Cannubi Barolo DOCG 2019 - Virna Borgogno
Virna Borgogno's Barolo Cannubi DOCG 2019 comes from one of Piedmont's most prestigious crus, the Cannubi hill, famous for giving Nebbiolo its unique finesse and elegance. It displays an intense, bright ruby red color. The nose reveals a rich and layered bouquet: ripe cherries, raspberries, and plums blend with hints of violet, tobacco, and fine spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg. Notes of leather and mineral nuances complete the aromatic profile, making it complex and seductive. On the palate, it stands out for its full-bodied and velvety structure, supported by well-integrated tannins and a balanced freshness that accompanies a long, persistent finish. Aromas of dark chocolate and a touch of leather further enrich the tasting experience. The grapes, hand-picked in the historic Cannubi vineyards, are vinified in stainless steel at a controlled temperature and then aged for at least 24 months in oak barrels before further aging in the bottle. This process gives the wine complexity and longevity, enhancing its territorial identity. Ideal with braised beef cheeks, truffle risotto, and aged cheeses, Barolo Cannubi DOCG – Virna Borgogno is an extraordinarily charming red, perfect for special occasions.
