Selva Delle Monache White Costa D'Amalfi DOC 2024 Cantina Ettore Sammarco
The Selva delle Monache Bianco Costa d’Amalfi DOC 2024 from Cantina Ettore Sammarco originates in the heart of the Ravello subzone, one of the most charming and renowned areas of the Amalfi Coast. Made from a blend of 70% Biancolella and 30% Falanghina, this white wine perfectly captures the soul of the terroir, expressing freshness, elegance, and aromatic complexity. The vineyards, cultivated on medium-textured, well-structured volcanic soils, benefit from a unique microclimate, characterized by marked temperature variations and sea breezes that give the wine a pronounced minerality and intense aromas.
The grapes are harvested by hand in the first ten days of October, with careful selection of the bunches and rapid transport to the winery to preserve their integrity. The grapes undergo cryomaceration in refrigerated silos, followed by soft pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation. The wine ages for 3 months in stainless steel on fine lees, acquiring balance and depth without losing its lively freshness.
It has a bright straw yellow color; on the nose, it offers a complex bouquet with floral notes and hints of exotic fruit, enriched with Mediterranean nuances. On the palate, it is fresh and harmonious, with an elegant and persistent finish that recalls the typical characteristics of Amalfi Coast wines.
Perfect with fish, shellfish, and white meats, it is best served at 8-10°C in white wine glasses. Produced in limited quantities and intended primarily for restaurants and wine bars, it is a wine that brings the tradition and unique beauty of the Amalfi Coast to the table.
