The Barbaresco Montersino DOCG 2022 by Virna Borgogno is a Nebbiolo that combines elegance and intensity, born from one of the most renowned crus in the Barbaresco area. It presents a brilliant ruby-violet color, a prelude to a wine with great personality. The nose offers a complex and refined bouquet, dominated by ripe red fruits such as cherries, raspberries, and plums, enriched with delicate floral notes and a spicy touch reminiscent of cinnamon, vanilla, and light earthy nuances. On the palate, it is velvety and harmonious, with soft yet evident tannins and a balanced acidity that lends freshness and vitality. The structure is rounded and enveloping, capable of sustaining a long aftertaste, rich in fruity and mineral nuances. The Nebbiolo grapes, harvested exclusively by hand to ensure the highest quality, come from vineyards that benefit from ideal climatic conditions. After gentle pressing, fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature to preserve fragrance and aromatic purity. It is then aged in large oak barrels, which enriches the wine with depth and complexity, without ever overpowering its finesse.
