Verduno Pelaverga DOC 2024 - Bel Colle
Verduno Pelaverga DOC 2024 – Bel Colle is the most authentic expression of Verduno's iconic grape variety, a rare grape grown in a restricted area that has managed to maintain its identity intact over the centuries. The bunches are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel, with short macerations and gentle pumping over to preserve fragrance and freshness. Six months of aging on the lees completes the profile, maintaining the variety's natural aromatic vivacity. In the glass, the color is a pale ruby red with pink hues. The bouquet is immediate and recognizable: crisp red fruits, cherry, plum, and a spicy note of white pepper that characterizes this grape variety. The palate is velvety, fresh, and balanced, with light tannins and a clean finish. It is an agile and versatile wine, ideal with cured meats, pasta dishes, mushroom dishes, white meats, and aged cheeses. A tribute to the small-scale production that makes Verduno unique in the Piedmontese landscape.
