The Rosso di Valtellina DOC 2022 – Fratelli Polatti is an Italian red wine that effortlessly interprets the Alpine terroir of Valtellina in Lombardy. Made from a blend of Nebbiolo (locally known as Chiavennasca) with small percentages of Pignola and Rossola, this wine has a ruby red color and a bouquet that ranges from ripe red fruits to subtle spicy notes, a balance typical of Valtellina wines. Vinification and aging are designed to maintain balance, freshness, and a dynamic flavor, offering a dry and harmonious palate with well-integrated tannins and good persistence. The 13.50% ABV supports the structure without overpowering the drink, making the wine pleasant and versatile.  This Rosso di Valtellina pairs effortlessly with traditional dishes, such as grilled red meats, game, roasts, cured meats, aged cheeses, and meat-based pasta dishes, balancing intense flavors with its freshness and roundness. Serve at a recommended temperature of 16-18°C to enhance its aromas and texture.  The Controlled Designation of Origin (DOC) reflects the historic identity of a wine that draws strength from the terraced vineyards of Valtellina, a context of heroic viticulture where steep slopes and microclimates tempered by the mountains give character to the red wines.
