Alta Valle Taurasi DOCG 2021 – Colli di Castelfranci is a pure Aglianico expression of Irpinia, produced from vineyards located around the winery in the municipality of Castelfranci at approximately 690 meters above sea level, on sandy-clay soils. After manual harvesting and destemming, the must ferments and macerates extensively with the skins to impart structure and color. Aged in large barrels and tonneaux for over two years, followed by at least six months in the bottle. In the glass, it appears intense ruby red with garnet reflections, deep and complex. On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe red fruits, spices, licorice, tobacco, and light balsamic notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, structured, and vigorous, with well-integrated tannins and a freshness that balances power and elegance. Alta Valle Taurasi DOCG is a wine that clearly expresses its terroir and the Irpinia winemaking tradition, perfect for accompanying rich meat dishes, roasts, game, or aged cheeses.
