Armacia Il Vino dei Terrazzamenti Costa Viola IGT 2022 Casa Vinicola Criserà
Armacia Costa Viola IGT Rosso is the wine that symbolizes the heroic viticulture practiced for centuries on the picturesque Costa Viola, in Calabria. The name recalls the typical dry stone walls, called armacìe, that support the steep terraces overlooking the sea, where the vines are cultivated with hard work, love, and dedication by the winemakers of the Enopolis Costa Viola Cooperative. Here, on medium-textured soils overlooking the Strait of Messina, native grape varieties such as Prunesta, Malvasia Nera, Nerello Calabrese, and Gaglioppo thrive, cultivated with a maximum yield of just 60 quintals per hectare.
Vinification involves modern techniques of soft cold pressing, which preserve the aromatic freshness and territorial identity of the grapes. The result is a red with a unique character, recognized as one of CERVIM's certified Extreme Wines, an authentic expression of a challenging yet extraordinary terroir.
Armacia presents an intense red color and aromas reminiscent of red berries, light spices, and Mediterranean notes. On the palate, it is balanced, soft, and fresh, with a harmonious structure that makes it extremely versatile. At 13% ABV, it is a wine for all meals, and when served chilled, it is also a pleasantly surprising pairing with rich fish dishes and creative cuisine.
