The 2022 Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Classico Superiore – Jago di Villa Spinosa is a red wine from Veneto that combines the tradition of Valpolicella Classico with the complexity of the ripasso technique, a maturation on the pomace of Recioto-Amarone that enhances its structure, body, and aromatic intensity. In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color with garnet highlights and offers an elegant and complex bouquet: ripe berries such as black cherry, blackberry, and plum are accompanied by light floral and spicy notes, with nuances of vanilla and tobacco deriving from the aging process. On the palate, it is soft, harmonious, and persistent, with velvety tannins that balance the richness of the flavor and provide structure to a full-bodied yet well-balanced sip. This profile makes the Ripasso Jago a wine suitable for both everyday dining and more refined occasions.  Made with Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, typical Veronese grape varieties, it pairs naturally with rich dishes such as grilled red meats, game, roasts, cured meats, and aged cheeses, as well as savory pasta dishes and rich, flavorful dishes. Serve at 16–18°C to enhance its aromas and structure.  The Classico Superiore designation indicates prolonged aging and superior quality within the historic production area, while the ripasso technique reflects the local winemaking heritage, where innovation and tradition meet in a wine with a distinct and contemporary identity.

Villa Spinosa is a historic winery in the Valpolicella Classica area (Verona) that has been interpreting the region with elegant, deep red wines since 1990. Located in Negrar, the winery cultivates vineyards in local crus, produces wines using traditional techniques such as Ripasso on Recioto-Amarone pomace, and ages in wood and bottle to express the distinctive style of the Veneto region.
