Naturalis Historia, with its intense ruby red color, is a wine that whispers millenary stories. The bouquet is a complex, broad, intense and persistent sensory journey, revealing aromas of violet, currant, wild blackberry, strawberry, black cherry, chocolate and vanilla. On the palate, the experience reveals itself as a warm and enveloping symphony, with great structure and softness, echoes of plum, bitter cherry, raspberry, strawberry jam and spices act as a counterpoint to the tannic texture.

Description | Naturalis Historia 2016 - Taurasi DOCG RiservaThe Naturalis Historia 2016 is a Taurasi DOCG "Riserva" wine, produced with 100% Aglianico grapes from a 50-year-old vineyard on the Mirabella Eclano estate. Of great structure and long-lived, it represents Irpinia, an ancient and enigmatic territory that Virgil defined: "Land jealous of its many mysteries". Vineyard and LandThe Mirabella Eclano estate with a south-east exposure is characterized by a deep soil, with a loamy-sandy texture, of volcanic origin, with deep clay and the presence of traces of limestone along the entire profile. The altitude is 400 m. above sea level, the training system is espalier with spurred cordon pruning. Planting density of 2,500 vines/hectare. Yield of about 4000 kg/ha and 1.6 kg/vine stock. Vinification and AgingThe vinification is classic in red, with a long maceration on the skins (about 25 days) at a controlled temperature (22°C-24°C). Aging takes place in French oak barriques for a period of 24 months. In the bottle for at least 30 months. Sensory FeaturesNaturalis Historia has an intense ruby red color. The perfume is a complex, ample, intense and persistent bouquet, which offers aromas reminiscent of violet, currant, wild blackberry, strawberry, black cherry, chocolate and vanilla. On the palate it is warm, enveloping, of great structure and softness with aromas of plum, bitter cherry, raspberry, strawberry jam and spices. PairingsThis wine goes perfectly with appetizers of cured meats and aged cheeses, pasta-based first courses with meat sauces, mushrooms and truffles, and second courses of elaborate red meats and game. A Wine of CharacterNaturalis Historia is a wine of character, with an aptitude for aging of 50 years and beyond. Perfect to be enjoyed at a serving temperature of 18 °C. |
