This wine is obtained from the <strong>Aglianico</strong> vine, grown in the vineyards at the foot of <strong>Mount Vulture</strong>, an ancient volcano that has been extinct for thousands of years. Thanks to the particular climatic conditions of the area, Aglianico del Vulture is considered one of the great red wines of Italy, with over 1500 hectares registered in the Register of vineyards and <strong>DOC< wines /strong>.</p><p>The Aglianico del Vulture vineyards are located at an altitude that varies from 200 to 800 meters, but the most favorable conditions for its cultivation are found between 200 and the 600 meters. The wine is produced in purity, obtained exclusively from the vinification of Aglianico grapes, with a maximum yield of 70%.</p><p>The name <strong>Labellum</strong> derives from the Latin ""labrum"" , which means vat, and refers to the ancient village of <strong>Lavello</strong>, called Labellum in Roman times. Labellum Aglianico del Vulture DOC is produced by <strong>Cantine Vitis In Vulture</strong>, following a rigorous winemaking process which includes crushing and destemming of the grapes, fermentation on the skins for about 12 days in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature (26°C), an aging of 4 months in small oak barriques of about 225 liters, and subsequently an aging in bottle for 6 months. Labellum Aglianico del Vulture DOC goes perfectly with first courses and meat-based sauces, aged cheeses and cured meats, and is particularly suitable with roast lamb.
